- Is there a Remote Procedure Call system available that would allow
- communications between WIN3.1 and WIN NT within a "C" or "C++"
- application?
-
- Senario:
-
- WIN NT - contains a DLL with function calls for handling special
- processing.
- WIN3.1 - a "C" or "C++" application needs to be able to call the
- functions on the WIN
- NT server and recieve responses.
-
- The machines will be networked using TCP/IP.
-
- More Detail:
-
- I am looking for an RPC Tool that would allow me to build RPC stubs to
- use in a "C" or "C++" application. The stubs will be formatted identical
- to the functions defined in the DLL residing on the WIN NT server. My
- understanding of this type of architecture is limited, but I believe the
- RPC Tool would have to be compatible and reside on both the WIN NT and
- WIN 3.1 machines. If you know of such a product or have successfully
- implemented a similar architecture, please post product name and/or
- caveats to look out for. In addition, any other information such as
- source examples would be very helpful.
